New Service Portal
We are please to announce over the next 16 weeks we will be upgrading the Plesk Service portal. The new portal will be faster, and offers many more functions in a simple intuitive manner.
1) You will now be able to use a single sign on to manage client emails, review reports and assign other users as email admin
2) For the website you can launch applications such as wordpress, dotnetnuke directly from the portal here are some additional features.
a) Analyze your site using Google Pagespeed
b) In addition to the no cost backup on 30 days cycle you can create on demand backup to the service space, or to a dropbox or via ftp or directly to an external server including databases
c) If your developer uses source control you can publish or rollback sites via GIT
d) One click secure it function that will maximize the service security
e) Select your site operating mode http/https/http/2 using IIS or apache or Ngix
f) Each site will run in its own virtual space or dedicated application pool
g) Access the portal using the domain name.
For windows all sites will be on Windows 2016 and SQL 2016 servers and for Linux PHP 7 or 7.1 using Apache FPM or Ngnix.
As this is only a change to the service portal no service will be impacted be it you will now have options to easy adjust the services.
Note at the time of this announcement there are lots of questions on Http/2 we support this however on linux the site needs to be using Ngnix as instead of http/2 for apache we use google pagespeed which does not require sites to have an SSL. For windows the site must be asp.net 4 and build for IIS 10. All sites must have SSL and we are working on including SSL at no cost in the new service portal.
